Patchouli Oil is extracted by steam distillation of the leaves of Patchouli plant that is native to tropical regions of Asia. In ancient times Patchouli Oil was popular for its scent, insecticidal, and insect-repellant properties. Its heavy and strong scent works great to treat depression. It relaxes tension and help overcoming feeling of sadness. Inhalation of Patchouli Oil stimulates the release of pleasure hormones serotonin and dopamine.
