Propylene Glycol is a viscous colorless liquid which is nearly odorless but possesses a faint sweet taste. It is miscible with water. It acts as a humectant. This means that propylene glycol with its two hydroxi groups can trap water. In many formulations Propylene Glycol is substitute for Glycerin because its fine non sticky consistency. Propylene Glycol can enhance delivery of ingredients into the deeper skin layers. It is one of the common ingredient in many cosmetic products.
